You’ll arrive at the Lake Powhatan gatehouse and be greeted by the gatehouse attendant who will provide directions to your reserved glamping site. Guests will receive a campground map, rules, comment card for feedback.

The host will give instructions for linen service, battery charging and other general needs, and will be available for questions. Curious about the best hikes or biking trails, or things to do in downtown Asheville? Your host is happy to point you in the right direction based on your interests—breweries, restaurants, nightlife, art, music, and all kinds of in-town activities.

Accommodations

People come to the mountains for so many reasons: a spiritual connection with nature, a relaxing getaway, an outdoor adventure, and so much more. Our mountains are unique because they provide all this, plus the convenience of downtown Asheville, for those who choose to venture out. While you’re with us, though, please enjoy the features and amenities at each Lake Powhatan Glamping site—they’re designed to help you feel welcomed and at home in the beautiful outdoors:

  • One weatherproof 12’ x 16’ canvas wall platform tent accommodating up to 4 guests

    • One queen bed with linens (sheets, comforter, pillows)

    • A foldable cot with additional floorspace for sleeping bags or air mattresses (sheets not provided). The cot can be stored under the bed when not in use.

    • A bedside table

    • Two fan plus large windows with bug screens

    • Front porch with chairs

    • Bathroom facilities are shared with the Lake Powhatan Campground and include hot showers

    • Pets are welcome—dogs must be leashed. Please be considerate and clean up after your pet.

Prepare for your Trip

The great thing about glamping is that you can bring everything or nothing! Each glamping tent at Lake Powhatan comes with comfortable bedding (sheets, comforter and pillow for the Queen bed). If you choose to pack light, we fully support it! But if you'd rather bring everything under the sun, here are some items to consider.

THINGS TO NOTE

The power units have approximately 1000Wh (12.0V, 1,000Ah). They are excellent for recharging phones, laptops, and tablets, illuminating small lights, etc. They are not intended for heavy uses of heaters, large fans, cooking equipment or other heavy electronics. Units cannot be recharged quickly (once the power unit is drained it takes 18 hours to re-charge), so guests should use the power available conservatively. Charge times for various devices are located on the units and if damage or impairment of the normal operation of the unit occurs guests will be liable.

Pisgah Glamping does not allow parties or special events. Be aware that quiet hours begin at 10:00 p.m.

Due to the natural outdoor environment and the fabrics and canvas of the tent, as well as comfort for future guests, we do not allow smoking inside the tent or on the tent porch.

Please also be considerate and remove dirty/muddy shoes or boots on the tent porch.
